Mobile website checklist

Before publishing new content, check navigation, readability and forms on smaller screens. Mobile layouts need clear priorities and enough space between interactive elements. Essential content should be easy to find. The title, short intro and primary call to action must be visible without horizontal scrolling. Review longer headlines, images and forms: text must not overlap, buttons need a usable tap size, and form fields should stay readable without zooming. Mobile navigation must stay predictable.
A hidden menu should open and close easily, and the active item should be clearly marked. Pay attention to typography and contrast. Oversized headings and undersized body text both hurt reading on narrow screens. Test at least one real device in addition to browser developer tools. Fonts, keyboards and gestures often reveal issues a desktop simulation misses. If the page includes a gallery, video or cards, confirm elements stack into a single column without clipping content.
Pay special attention to sticky elements and bottom bars: on small screens they easily cover content or the submit button. If third-party scripts are present (chat, cookie banner), confirm they do not push the layout out of view. Record the device and browser used for the check so issues are easier to reproduce. Finally, run the checklist again after real content is entered. Placeholders often hide problems with text length and image ratios. Only after that check do we consider the mobile view ready to publish in production.
